THE BOOK REPORTS WERE AMAZING!

Hello families of Room 205s. I hope everyone has had a great week. As usual, we have been very busy in Room 205s! The students are finishing up their Starry Night masterpieces, they all presented their book reports, the grade 4's wrote a math test and started a new math unit, the grade 5's completed Symmetry Art in math and all the students are continuing to work on their Plot Diagrams for the book We All Fall Down.We will be starting our new read aloud book next week titled, Iqbal. More information about this book will follow over the next few weeks.

I hope you all received the pink notice about our upcoming Making Sense of Math workshop on Thursday April 10, 2014. Parents are invited to attend their child's class from 9:15-9:55 am.  If you can send the form back with your child and fill out the bottom portion, that would be helpful.

I also hope you've had a chance to look at the purple permission form for Director's Cut which will be coming to our class for a stop animation film workshop with our students on April 14, 2014. The cost of this one day workshop is $21.00 per student. Thank you in advance for filling out these forms and I look forward to seeing many of you at the Math Learning Morning on April 10th.

BOOK REPORTS - We enjoyed listening to and learning from all the wonderful presentations this week. The students worked extremely hard on their latest book reports. Thank you to all the parents for supporting your child through this project. It is wonderful to see how the students tapped into their creativity and imagination to create unique newspapers as well as mobiles, comic strips, maps and postcards.

The grade 5's who also presented their work in a VERY creative manner through a mobile, a postcard, a detailed map and a comic strip. Their presentations were entertaining as they summarized their novels and highlighted the main characters, the setting and the problem.
